From screen logo to STL in the printer

The same extruded mark that lives on your site can become a desk badge or patch master — STL export carries the watertight geometry a slicer wants.

Workflow

Four moves

  1. Step 01

    Simplify the mark

Print hates hairline detail. If the logo has strokes thinner than ~1mm at target size, thicken them in the source SVG first.

  2. Step 02

    Extrude for structure

Depth 3–5 with bevel on: the bevel gives each layer of the print something to bridge, improving surface quality.

  3. Step 03

    Export STL

STL is geometry-only by design — color lives in the filament, not the file.

  4. Step 04

    Slice and print

Orient the flat back on the bed. No supports needed for a flat-backed extrusion.
